Small Firms Loan Guarantee - Sectoral restrictions
A number of sectoral restrictions apply to the use of the Small Firms Loan Guarantee (SFLG) scheme. An overview of the main excluded sectors is provided below but this cannot serve as a definitive guide.

- Authors, music composers and certain other own-account artists
- Banking, finance and associated services
- Betting and gambling
- Commission Agents
- Education
- Fisheries
- Forestry
- Insurance and associated services
- Medical, health and veterinary services
- Owning and dealing in real estate
- Postal services
- Professional sports players and sporting organisations
- Public administration, national defence and compulsory social security
- Ticket agents
- Tied public houses
- Transport

The SFLG scheme is controlled by BERR and we can give you a free appraisal as to whether your business might qualify for a loan under the scheme. You might also be interested in the recent SFLG update that has occurred.
